MERIDIAN

Meridian is a patient-first, doctor-led initiative built on sound clinical judgement and a shared commitment to guide patients towards the right care, while recognising doctors who uphold the highest standards of skill and integrity.

We are building Meridian with a simple goal — to make one of the most important pieces of information accessible at people’s fingertips: who are the right surgeons for a particular surgery?

Today, people can find almost anything within seconds, yet when it comes to choosing a surgeon for a life-changing procedure, they still largely depend on word of mouth. While AI can provide information, we believe choosing a surgeon is one area where human professional judgement matters — especially from someone who has actually seen that surgeon operate.

As an anaesthetist, your experience working alongside surgeons gives you a perspective that is incredibly valuable. We want to bring that knowledge forward, not just to identify well-known names, but also to help deserving surgeons who may be excellent at what they do but are not yet widely known.

We would be honoured to have you contribute your experience and recommendations to help us build this. We also recognise the value of your time and expertise and want to find meaningful ways to acknowledge and reward your contribution.

Our aim is simple: to help people make a better-informed decision when it matters most.

One Question Defines the Arc
If a member of your own family needed this procedure, who in this city would you send them to?

We request you to nominate at least one trusted doctor for every relevant surgery, with complete honesty and in the true spirit of your oath — not based on personal ties, friendship, or favour, but on who you genuinely believe upholds the highest standards of skill, ethics, judgement, and patient care.

Your honesty matters deeply to what we are building.

If you have not personally worked with a particular surgeon, you may also consider seeking suggestions from trusted friends or colleagues whose judgement you value. If you still feel unsure or cannot confidently recommend someone, please feel free to leave the field blank. You do not need to name a surgeon simply to complete the form.

Every recommendation we receive becomes part of the trust that patients place in Meridian. A name entered without genuine conviction can weaken that trust and, ultimately, harm what we are trying to build together. We would much rather receive an honest blank than a name you do not truly believe in.

Thank you for giving us your judgement, your time, and most importantly, your honesty.

Building Something That Matters

Now that you’ve had an introduction to what we are building with Meridian, we are honoured to have you come on board as part of this network.

What we are building depends on the knowledge, experience, and goodwill of people like you who are willing to make exceptional medical care more accessible to those who need it.

As a first step, we would be grateful if you could share a few essential details about yourself and your practice. This will help us understand your expertise and begin building your Meridian profile.

We will keep the process simple. Each week, we will share a short form covering just three procedures at a time, allowing us to gradually build a meaningful picture of the expertise available through your chapter without taking too much of your time.

Thank you for being willing to be a part of this journey.
